The event will be hosted by WtLF’s editors, David Reeve and Luciane Pisani, who will explain how WtLF is addressing the exhibition’s themes.
Sol Polo, curator and author of the feature Becoming Pond, published in WtLF#5, will talk about the OmVed pond in the context of the cycle of water and how it connects us to everything in nature, and Maia Magoga, OmVed’s artist-in-residence, who contributed to WtLF#6 with the folded artwork Soil as Cosmos will be taking us on a guided meditation centred on the notion of re-rooting, thinking about the lines of connectivity between our inside and outside worlds.
We will then be joined via video-link by Elder Dr Dave Courchene, Anishinaabe Knowledge Keeper and founder of Turtle Lodge, who wrote the WtLF#6 feature A Time for Change, calling for a renewed understanding of our relationship with Earth. He will be offering a blessing, giving a short presentation, and taking questions from the audience.
Drinks and nibbles will be served, and guests will have the opportunity to chat with each other, explore the Growth exhibition and the gardens. Numbers are strictly limited and Covid-restrictions will be followed.
