Cartographies of the Imagination
A tour of the exhibition with artists Kirsty Badenoch and Sayan Skandarajah, and exhibition designer Maria Piccinelli.
Cartographies of the Imagination is an exhibition of experimental drawing, mapping places known, unknown, forgotten and fictional. The beautiful greenhouses of Omved Gardens will be transformed into a paper experimentarium, designed by PiM Studio, that will grow throughout a month of drawing workshops and experiments in map-making.
We invite you to join us for a private tour, and discover the ideas behind the drawings as well as the wider ‘Cartographies of the Imagination’ project with the artists, curators and designers themselves.
The exhibition showcases four years of drawing research by landscape and architectural researchers Kirsty Badenoch and Sayan Skandarajah, mapping lost and invisible land- and city-scapes. A collective forum features works from leading voices in architecture, landscape, painting, sound, technology and film. Exhibiting artists include: Francesca Benedetto, Nat Chard, Penelope Haralambidou, Charnjeev Kang, Aisling O’Carroll, Saskia Olde Wolbers, ScanLab Projects, Mira Sanders, Doug Specht, Llew Watkins and Izabela Wieczorek.
Each tour accommodates up to six people and lasts an hour, giving opportunities to wander, peruse and converse with the artists. You are free to explore the beautiful gardens of Omved before and after the tour.
The accompanying Cartographies of the Imagination book will be available to buy at the venue, or can be pre-ordered with your ticket booking to collect in-person.
