Join us as we celebrate the reopening of OmVed Gardens, following a major transformation and opening its gates once again as a centre for ecology, food, and creativity.
Marking this new chapter is also the opening of our latest exhibition Into the Seeds of Time, presenting the work of artist Vivienne Schadinsky, following her year-long residency at OmVed Gardens.
The exhibition brings together films, sculptures, and Japanese ink paintings that trace the journey of beans — from seed to harvest — exploring their potential to nourish both people and planet. It also reflects the influence of Japanese culture in Schadinsky’s work, creating a poetic and powerful meditation on growth, resilience, and care.
Joining this Opening Day is your first chance to visit the exhibition and experience the brand new OmVed Gardens spaces: Greenhouse, Seed Library, Barn and Kitchen, alongside new parts of the garden and a beautiful relocation of the OmVed Pavilion.
The day will also feature:
- Live biosonification performance with beans, orchestrated by award-winning sound artist, DJ, producer, and live performer Brian D’Souza (a.k.a Auntie Flo), known for his immersive, atmospheric sets that blend global rhythms with ambient soundscapes — perfect for a garden celebration
- Family-friendly activities to engage all ages, including nature-based crafts, seed-saving, and garden exploration. A chance for little ones (and grown-ups!) to connect with the natural world.
- Seasonal food and drinks available to buy from the OmVed Kitchen, showcasing fresh ingredients from the garden and beyond — expect nourishing, plant-forward dishes and refreshing botanical drinks.
About OmVed Gardens:
OmVed Gardens is a garden, exhibition, events, and learning space in North London dedicated to exploring the connections between food, ecology and creativity for health and climate resilience. We are on a mission to inspire ecological awareness and action, and deepen our understanding of interconnectedness with the natural world.
As a registered Community Interest Company, all our activities prioritise social and ecological objectives. Whether collaborating with chefs, creatives, gardeners, or schools, OmVed Gardens is a hub for education, connection, and action. We aim to inspire individuals and communities to reimagine their role in building a healthier, more resilient world.
We work to increase biodiversity - of species, seeds, food systems, and participation, through regenerative gardening, seed saving, habitat creation, and ecological education. Our space serves as a living example of how urban areas can be transformed into thriving ecosystems that support both human and non-human communities.
