These days no self-respecting café or restaurant will be seen without a basket of sourdough bread on the table, and its popularity is growing apace as people discover not just its superior taste and flavour, but also the health benefits of long-fermented bread. But what is sourdough bread and how is it made?

This one-day workshop at Omved Gardens will be led by Lawrence Leason from Hackney Bread Kitchen, with lunch provided by Chef Arthur. You’ll get hands-on experience mixing, kneading and shaping your own dough, have a chance to stroll in the beautiful gardens to pick herbs for your lunchtime focaccia, try out other fermented food from kimchi to kombucha and beyond, and go home with a bag full of the loaves you’ve made during the day, along with all the equipment you need to bake great sourdough in your own home.

Price includes breakfast morning rolls, lunch & sourdough bread-making kit.
