Maia Magoga is a visual artist, cook and food-grower who will be in residence at Omved for the next two months.
A recent RCA graduate, her practice explores the multitude of ways in which humans and environments are interconnected, understanding food as a prime conduit that connects us to our external, shifting landscapes.
Maia also co-founded goby-fish collective in 2019 (@gobyfishcollective), an experimental eating experience that thinks about food as both subject and object. They host anti-capitalist concept dinners that centre dialogue, collaboration and knowledge exchange, using food as a metaphor to talk about wider conversations on ecology and the sociopolitical.
Keep an eye out on OmVed Gardens instagram and here on the website for Maia’s work.
