Schools
Our schools programme allows children to experience the joy and importance of being outside and growing food.
Since 2022 OmVed Gardens has provided outdoor and garden education in partnership with Camden Public Health. Primarily working with a local school in the London Borough of Camden, the partnership has three main objectives:
To have a measurable impact on mental wellbeing.
To engage public school children with the natural world.
To support children in learning where food comes from.
The OmVed Gardens team works with teachers to provide sessions throughout the school year following the rhythm of the seasons. Sessions are interactive, using physical and sensory skills, and are based around movement, art, ecology, seeds, identification, compost, and wildlife education.
We are deeply proud of this work, and believe that a good future lies at the intersection of education and an understanding of our natural world. This programme encompasses the practical nature of what we hope for children and the future, and the joy and importance of digging in the soil and being outdoors.
