Join Artist of the Month Sarina Mantle at OmVed Gardens for a unique sound and art workshop exploring the dialogue between humans, plants, and imagination.
What to Expect
Using Plantwave bio-rhythmic technology - which translates the subtle activity of plants into sound - participants will be invited to listen to the living voices of greenery in real time. These sonic patterns will then serve as prompts for artistic exploration: lines, curves, and abstract geometries brought to life through drawing and painting on easels set within the garden.
The workshop will be held outdoors, weather permitting, or in the Greenhouse or Barn if it’s cold or rainy. Please dress comfortably and come prepared for the season. All materials will be provided, and no prior artistic experience is needed, just curiosity and openness.
What You’ll Learn
- How plants emit bio-rhythmic signals and how these can be listened to
-
Ways to deepen your sensory awareness and creative connection with the natural world
-
Techniques for interpreting sound and rhythm through visual expression
-
Approaches to abstract mark-making inspired by sound, pattern, and movement
What’s Included
- Use of Plantwave bio-rhythmic technology and all art materials (easels, paints, drawing tools, paper)
-
Guided listening and drawing sessions led by artist and sound practitioner Sarina Mantle
-
Access to the gardens and greenhouse spaces for immersive creative exploration
-
Light refreshments and an atmosphere designed to encourage reflection and play
Who Can Take Part?
Open to all aged 16 and over, whether you’re an artist, musician, nature lover, or simply curious about exploring new ways to connect with plants and sound. No prior experience is required, just curiosity and an open mind.

About OmVed Gardens:

OmVed Gardens is a garden, exhibition, events, and learning space in North London dedicated to exploring the connections between food, ecology and creativity for health and climate resilience. We are on a mission to inspire ecological awareness and action, and deepen our understanding of interconnectedness with the natural world.
As a registered Community Interest Company, all our activities prioritise social and ecological objectives. Whether collaborating with chefs, creatives, gardeners, or schools, OmVed Gardens is a hub for education, connection, and action. We aim to inspire individuals and communities to reimagine their role in building a healthier, more resilient world.
We work to increase biodiversity - of species, seeds, food systems, and participation, through regenerative gardening, seed saving, habitat creation, and ecological education. Our space serves as a living example of how urban areas can be transformed into thriving ecosystems that support both human and non-human communities.
