OmVed Gardens is thrilled to present...
Into the seeds of time
An exhibition presenting the work of artist Vivienne Schadinsky and her year-long residency at OmVed Gardens exploring the journey of beans from seed to harvest and their potential for human and planetary well-being.
The exhibition, opening 31 May at OmVed Gardens, will offer a unique portrait of beans' rich diversity and overlooked benefits.
As part of her residency, Schadinsky set out to explore the intersections of food, ecology and community through a plant that has been cultivated by humans for thousands of years.
The result is an invitation to step into the artist's unique expression, connecting her art with ecological insights from scientific advisors, the results of a series of growing tests carried out at OmVed and in her own studio, and her long standing fascination with Japanese culture and crafts.

Weaving art, ecology and food within the OmVed ecosystem
Combining films, sculptures and Japanese ink paintings, the exhibition will spread throughout OmVed’s new spaces. This distribution aims to highlight the connection between Schadinsky’s art with the art of growing, seed saving, eating, preserving and documenting, and will guide the visitor on an holistic exploration of the OmVed Gardens ecosystem.
An invitation to shape a more beautiful future
At the intersection of art and ecology, Vivienne’s work is rooted in the belief of the transformative power of nature, culture and art to encourage social behavioural change.
Therefore, Into the seeds of time is an invitation, an invitation to shape a more beautiful future by taking small steps today, in our gardens, kitchens, workplaces and communities.
