Alongside many of our neighbouring gardens across North London, OmVed Gardens are delighted to host an Open Day Fundraiser as part of North London Hospice’s Open Garden Days scheme.
The day will be a chance to wander through the gardens and relax with a cup of chai and a slice of cake, all while supporting the vital work of our neighbour, North London Hospice, for our community. We invite you to explore the gardens at your own pace, or join one of our guided tours, with either our Resident-Ecologist, or one of our gardeners alongside other members of the team.
We will also have a raffle with an exciting range of gifts from our gardens & other neighbours. You can buy the raffle tickets on site at OmVed.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting North London Hospice's incredible work.

A note, from the gardeners, on what to look out for in the gardens this spring:
‘In April, as winter continues to fade into spring, the gardens become awash with the bright green emanating from our cherished Weeping Willow; a green dotted, for the first time, with yellow daffodils & spring bulbs planted through the meadow last winter. The tentative signs of produce to come from the kitchen garden arrive in the form of pink-flecked apple blossoms around our central growing space. The ponds hum with the promise of frogspawn carefully laid, and seeming to pay homage to clouds reflected in the gaps amidst the duckweed. In these, and many other ways, the spring garden offers peace amidst change, and it is an honour to share it with you, for our neighbour, North London Hospice, who remind us of the value of peace amidst change at a precious time in life.’
About North London Hospice:
North London Hospice receives referrals for over 3,500 people every year across the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey, and offers some services in Camden and Islington. Our vision is to provide the best of life, at the end of life, for everyone.
Here are some examples of how the hospice could use the funds:
- £23 could pay for an hour of emotional support from our bereavement team.
- £30 could fund an hour of physiotherapy for our patients.
- £183.75 could pay for a Registered Nurse on the Inpatient Unit for a full day.
- £243 could fund patient psychotherapy services for one day.
- £3,640 could cover the cost of a one‑week stay for a patient on our Inpatient Unit.
Accounting for wider hospice overheads, this rounds up to: “It costs almost £4,000 a week to care for one patient on our Inpatient Unit.” - £6,250 could fund the entire Inpatient Unit for 24 hours.
